SunSPOT Just Got Better: Explore Our New and Improved Features

We’re excited to announce an upgrade to SunSPOT to make it easier to use and more powerful for all users. While the interface will look familiar, we’ve added streamlined features designed to improve your experience and provide more accurate insights.

Here’s what’s new:

Get Solar and Batteries

To use SunSPOT the way you remember, simply select “Get solar and batteries” on the new landing page and choose “Enter usage data manually.”

You can now also upload your smart meter data earlier in the process. This option has always been available, but providing your data upfront gives us the best information to estimate your solar savings accurately.

Map Your Roof

Selecting “Map your roof” on the landing page allows you to jump straight to the mapping tool after entering your address. It’s the fastest way to see how much solar can fit on your roof and how much electricity it could generate.

📌 Note: This pathway uses average electricity usage data, as we won’t have details about your electricity use. For more accurate estimates of your savings and payback period, you can still enter your usage data after mapping.

Upgrade Your Solar

This is our biggest update yet - a brand-new pathway for users who already have solar installed. Now you can explore the potential benefits and costs of:

  • Adding additional solar panels

  • Replacing your current solar system

  • Installing a battery

📌 Note: This option requires smart meter data so we can understand how your current system is performing.

We’ve designed these new features to be intuitive and easy to use. If you get stuck, just click on the information icons or “Learn more” links throughout the site for clear explanations, helpful resources, and details on our assumptions.

We hope you enjoy the upgraded SunSPOT experience!
